They get in our way
Repeat themselves and ask us to repeat what we just told them
Drive too slow
Smell like rancid perfume and musty attics
Their skin has stuff growing out of it and is hard to look at
They can’t see well
Talk to loud, talk too soft
They endlessly try our patience
They have been called ‘The Greatest Generation’
They fought and Won a War
They worked hard
Harder than we will ever understand
And they survived the Greatest Depression
They went without for themselves so they could save money
And they paved the way for us to have a better life
Let’s not forget
Let’s be grateful
Let’s be patient
